Described by Stanley Kubrick as "a masterpiece of cinematic invention", Abel Gance's epic silent film charting the personal and political life from boyhood of the famed military leader. Now remastered by the BFI National Archive and film historian Kevin Brownlow, this edition also includes Carl Davis' score for the film. 

Special features include a BBC documentary on Gance's silent films, an interview with Carl Davis and a 36-page booklet.
